Tiny BIG Idea Competition Winners Announced

To help spread the word about BIG Idea, we took BIG Idea to the SD FBLA Conference and SD FFA Convention in April. We held a workshop for the FBLA students where they participated in a hands-on activity to discover more about entrepreneurship and learning from failure. During the FFA event, we had a booth with information about the full BIG Idea competition held in the fall and attendees got to compete in the Risk vs. Reward game.

We also offered a Tiny BIG Idea competition at both events where participants were invited to submit a business name and brief description for a BIG Idea prize package. From the FBLA Conference, the winner was Alexis Haiar from Mitchell High School with an idea to provide accessible, portable ramps for people with mobility issues in non-adaptive places. The winner of the Tiny BIG idea at the FFA Convention was Noah Felderman from Doland High School. His business is an ice cream truck on Lake Poinsett, which he owns and operates now. Congrats to them both!

The 2022 BIG Idea Competition will open on September 1, 2022 and entries are due October 31, 2022.
